How It All Started

My name is Lochie, and I didn’t always know I’d end up in fitness. Growing up, I was hesitant. But everything changed when I got into sports and martial arts in 2008. It built my confidence, discipline, and a deep appreciation for training.

By the time lockdown hit, I was already invested in fitness, but training at home pushed me to think differently. I wasn’t just following workouts—I was breaking them down, refining movements, and trying to understand why things worked, not just how. That’s when I knew coaching was the path for me.

The Change

Injury has a way of reshaping your perspective. During a Jiu-Jitsu match, I dislocated my ankle. That moment made me more aware of how unpredictable training and performance can be. It also taught me that training has to be personal - what works for one person won’t always work for another.

But the hardest part wasn’t the injury - it was learning how to take time off. I never wanted to quit, but being forced to rest affected my motivation and mindset. Still, it made me more intentional with my training and coaching.

Why I Coach

I started my business because I saw too many people following one-size-fits-all programs that didn’t consider their needs. My approach is built on:

  • Genuine personalisation – Every client is different. Training should reflect that.
  • Constant refinement – Programs should adapt based on how people respond, not stay static.
  • A passion for learning – I look up to people like Joel Twinem and Elijah Mundy who break down the science of training in a way that actually makes sense.

The Bigger Picture

I love coaching because it allows me to help people and learn from them at the same time. Every client brings a new challenge, which keeps me growing as a coach.

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be:
"Focus on what you need for yourself, not what everyone else is doing."

Ralph Waldo Emerson - "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

Looking ahead, my goal is clear: in-person coaching, building a community, and eventually opening my own gym. This is just the beginning.
